Mobility
ERASMUS is the most successful student exchange programme in the world. Each year, more than 230.000 students study abroad thanks to the Erasmus programme. It offers the opportunity for student placements in enterprises, university staff teaching and training, and it funds co-operation projects between higher education institutions across Europe.
The University of Rijeka joined this program in 2009 and since then has signed over 160 Erasmus bilateral agreements with universities from the majority of EU countries. This cooperation includes students and staff exchange. In four academic years more than 250 University of Rijeka students and 50 staff members participated in Erasmus.
Students from European universities that have signed the Erasmus Bilateral Agreement with the University of Rijeka may spend one or two semesters studying at our University.
Application deadlines:
- 10th June for the winter semester/whole academic year
- 10th November for the summer semester
Academic calendar:
- 1st semester (winter): beginning of October – end of January
- 2nd semester (summer): beginning of March – end of June
- Examination period: February, end of June, beginning of July

CEEPUS
CEEPUS is an academic exchange programme for students and university teachers from Central Europe based on multilateral cooperation agreements in the fields of education and research. The main CEEPUS activity is based on university networks operating joint programmes, ideally leading to joint degrees. In addition to the mobility inside the networks, CEEPUS also supports mobility outside CEEPUS networks, the so-called freemover mobility.
